The event this year is  supported by a huge range of partners and sponsors and that can only mean good things for the attendees :D Here’s a quick run down of the highlights to get you all psyched up!

Guests of Honour

Protoss Wizard

Kamui is one of the world’s few full-time professional cosplayers and avid costume maker. Her jaw-dropping armored creations, many of which are inspired by Blizzard’s titles, have won her international acclaim.

She has promoted for the World of Warcraft trading card game, conducted numerous costume-making workshops and won numerous awards for her craft; most recently emerging as grand champion at BlizzCon 2013′s cosplay competition.

Her achievements in the cosplay world have led to numerous guesting and judging opportunities across the globe, and her tutorials, many of which are related to armor and prop making, have been an important influence in the thrust towards a more maker-oriented cosplay culture.

Dat-Baka Cosplay is an Australia-based Vietnamese cosplayer with a penchant for sizzling hot male characters.

He was awarded a prize for his portrayal of Date Masamune from Sengoku Basara at SMASH! 2012 as part of Team Sexy Beast, and has amassed a sizable following in the four short years since his debut.

While he has no qualms about baring it, Dat-Baka Cosplay is also a capable craftsman, having built a plethora of impressive costumes including iconic armor inspired by Sun Wukong from the Chinese classic Journey to the West, from games, and from anime.

There is the popular Cosplay Runway for Cosplayers to strut down and show their stuffs ! This is also a great time for Photographers to camp for a shot too.

With a resolute to ditch the old and stressful ways of pitting cosplayers against each other for a sequence in glory, ICDS  introduces Cosplay Talent Showcase. As the name suggests, this is a Talent Showcase and it focus less on competing and more on entertainment.

Then there is also the iconic Cosplay Chess! Something that is only seen in ICDS due to the sheer amount of effort and rehearsals required haha.

“ Singapore’s Annual Cosplay Chess is a fan spectacle like no other.

Inspired by the human chess games of the Renaissance, this epic cosplay performance witnesses some of the most iconic Eastern and Western pop-culture characters duking it out on stage each year in a battle for dominance.

In this fourth installment, we’re flipping the chess board, so stay tuned for more announcements! “

Interaction Event Attendees

If there’s anything our local events lack, it’s attendee interaction. I don’t mean a Meet-and-Greet or Stage segment with the invited guests where fans get a glimpse of their idols. I mean some form of interaction for normal/casual event attendees to take part in!

Events in Singapore always seem to follow the standard template of Booths, Cosplay competitions, VIP meet & Greet, Karaoke/Dance performance and erm, that’s about it.

I’m not thrashing the other events because they have their winning points too ( Professional guests, exclusive merchandise, big big discounts etc). However I just cannot help noticing that there are stuffs for the Cosplayers and Idol chasing fans but nothing for the casual Anime fan who’s looking to enjoy a fun weekend.

So I’m glad ICDS have noticed that jarring gap and stepped in to fill it up. ICDS have CONQUEST ; it’s a Scavenger Hunt game that rewards you for simply being part of their celebration. The best thing about this game is how it gives every attendee a chance to interact with other attendees/ cosplayers on the pretext of accomplishing this task 8D Veryyy smart hehe.
